The Siak Republic (pronounced Sōk) is a fictional state in the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex universe, referred to in the latest film Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society.
The Siak Republic is presumed to occupy the present territory of the Republic of Singapore and the surrounding territory of Riau, Indonesia. At some point within this fictional universe these territories must have merged to become a new state, adopting the system of government of the old Singaporean republic. The name is derived from the Siak Regency[1] of Riau.
