Mr. Oblong is confronted at work about the many expensive insurance claims his family has made on their plan, and his boss Mr. Klimer issues an ultimatum: if Oblong makes one more claim, he'll be off the plan.

Milo's friends try to come up with ways to "accidentally" injure Milo so his parents won't be able to afford Granville, but ultimately Pickles knocks a tree on Biff and Chip with her car while lighting a new cigarette. Milo meets and a "cute" girl at Valley High, Yvette, who is actually an alien. Milo tries to express his attraction to her, but the boys from the Hills beat him up and warn him to "stay away" from their women.

At the same time Bob stops defending his wife, worrying that if he is seriously injured they won't be able to afford medical care. Pickles consoles Milo and is touched by his feelings for Yvette, pointing out to Bob that he isn't afraid to do whatever it takes for the girl he loves. Yvette takes Milo to her 'house,' actually a barely disguised UFO and examines him, leaving an identifier tag on his nipple. The Hill boys beat him up again, but Milo decides to write Yvette a love letter, which Helga delivers in disguise when the Debbies have a tea party. The Hill boys find the letter and decide to set Milo's treehouse on fire but are thwarted at the last minute by Mikey and a garden hose. But the treehouse is set on fire moments later by Creepy Susie because she claims that she has "a problem."

Yvette takes her flying car to the treehouse, and finding only ashes, alerts the mother ship that her mission is incomplete due to the "nerdy, bald kid's" death. Her contact instructs her to self-terminate, mentioning that transport back to the ship is "not cost-effective". Yvette is forced to comply just as Milo is running up to see her, and is heartbroken. His friends and family interpret Yvette's death as a suicide, claiming she mistook the burning treehouse as a sign of his death. (Though technically, this is correct.) Milo pokes as Yvette's ashes as Bob tells his son that at least she will make a good fertilizer for their rosebushes. </td></tr> <tr class="vevent" style="text-align: center; background:#F2F2F2"><td id="ep2">2</td> <td class="summary" style="text-align: left;">"Narcoleptic Scottie" </td><td>April 8, 2001</td></tr><tr><td class="description" style="border-bottom:3px solid #000000" colspan="3"> In an attempt to calm his hyperactivity, Bob and Pickles let Milo care for an injured Scottish terrier, but when the dog proves to be a bad influence on Milo, he's forced to give the dog up for adoption.
