The Super Famicom video game Chibi Maruko-chan: Harikiri 365-Nichi no Maki (ちびまる子ちゃん はりきり365日の巻?, "Little Chibi Maruko's Volume of 365 Days")[2] is based on the shōjo anime of the same name.

Gameplay[]

The four players must progress through a calendar, either gaining or losing money for each tile he or she lands on depicting a certain action in Japanese. This game is not for people who don't understand Japanese, even though it is geared towards younger children. The main (and only controllable character) is Chibi Maruko herself. Items can be used including candy to increase the amount of spaces a player can move and a red potion that leads players to an alternative universe where time flows backwards to the start. Each day has either 28, 29, 30, or 31 days depending on the month. The square after the final day of the month determines the winner as the first person to cross this line gets an extra 100 yen. Games can proceed in units of one, three, six, or even 12 months. The winner of the game is the player who has the most amount of money.

Special items can be gained from mystery boxes set on certain days of the month and can be used anytime by pressing the "A" button on the yellow icon.
